The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.”
Colossians 1:15  (NIV)

This is such a short verse yet it is packed with information about who Jesus is, has been, and will always be.

“The Son (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God”
What this means for us is that Jesus was acting, representing, and being God (who is invisible to us) in a way we can understand. God wants us to know Him and Jesus was part of that plan to help us know who God really is.

“The firstborn over all creation”
What this tells us is that Jesus was a part of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) from the beginning. He was always there. He saw Eden and God's GOOD creation that we see in Genesis 1.

God is all-knowing and in all time. This alone should awe and wow us about God. But it also is something that we can’t and will never be able to fully understand. We can thank God for who he is and His love for us. Most importantly, His sacrifice of Jesus and all the love that showed.

God, you are amazing! You are so mysterious but in the best ways. You know all and you see all. Nothing I do can surprise you. Thank you for loving me so much that you sent Jesus to die for my sins. That is a sacrifice I can not comprehend. Thank you! Amen.
