RelationSHIFT: June 7

This week’s readings are based on the “Be Present” sermon from the RelationSHIFT series. This season, we want to focus on the changes or shifts that God wants to make in us in order to improve our relationships. Slow down, read the text, and then let it read you.

“Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”
Psalm 62:5-8 (NIV)

There seems to be a connection between rest and hope. This Psalm describes resting with God as a rock, fortress, and refuge. If we lack resting with God, we lack an unshakable foundation. In fact, this challenges us with a question. If we are not resting in God, then what are we resting in? Are we considering something else as the rock, fortress, and refuge of our lives? In other words, what are you placing your hope in? Ponder these questions today.
