Saints & Struggles: May 19

This week is based on the “Struggle of Depression” sermon from the Saints & Struggles series. We are focusing on how God helps us in the midst of struggles. Slow down, read the text, and then let it read you…

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;  persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed…Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
2 Corinthians 4:8-9; 16-18 (NIV)

It is easy for us to lose perspective and get lost within a struggle of depression. As a result, it can be hard to find our way back out. If you find yourself lost in the midst of a struggle there are 2 steps to begin finding your way: fix your eyes on God and find someone to make the journey with. How are you fixing your eyes on God in the midst of your struggles? Do you have someone that knows of your struggles? If so, fix your eyes on God together. If not, seek someone out.
