Saints & Struggles: May 6

This week is based on the “Struggle of Temptation” sermon from the Saints & Struggles series. We are focusing on how God helps us in the midst of struggles. Slow down, read the text, and then let it read you…

“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NLT)

We overcome temptation by not facing it alone. We are very good at giving into temptation. We will justify and win every argument with ourselves. But, if we seek out accountability, support, and encouragement, we are less likely to fall. In the moments that we do stumble, there is someone there to pick us back up. Do you have anyone in your life who knows the temptations you are facing? If not, prayerfully seek someone out. If so, check in with them to encourage each other.
