The Secret to Greatness...

We talked last weekend about God doing extraordinary things in our ordinary lives. Serve Day is a testament to this truth & we even saw a seriously awesome story that took place during Serve Day. Check out the first 10 min of the sermon to hear what happened HERE

Herby is a prime example of what Greatness in God looks like. We don’t have to be famous to live a great life in God, but we do need to know the one who is Great, Jesus.

Jesus rattled our cages this week in Mark 9:33-35, when He redefined that to be the greatest we have to become last & the servant of all.

This is counter to everything in our being, which is why we need Jesus to save us & give us His Spirit. Even if we love to serve people, there’s a point where we’ll want to quit serving if people don’t respond how we want them to.

Jesus isn’t just our Savior, He’s the greatest leader & person of all time and He accomplished this by becoming last, putting others first, and seeking to serve us & our sin without a guarantee we’d return the favor.

This is what it means to be redeemed as a human & live the way God intended for us to live.

Today, may we fix our eyes on Jesus, the author & perfecter of our faith. Who for the joy set before endured the cross, scorning it’s shame & sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2)

Be great today!
