This week’s readings are based on the Unsung Heroes sermon series. This season, we are looking at some of the lesser-known heroes of the faith, seeing the big impact they had, and understanding how we can learn from their example. Slow down, read the text, and then let it read you.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:43-45a (ESV)
Sometimes it is hard to do the right thing. This Scripture tells us to love and pray for our enemies or those who stand against us. This is a hard saying. Some things we can only do with the strength of the Holy Spirit. Today, ask God for the strength you need to do the right thing.
