It’s amazing how much our schedules will change this week due to the biggest event in our area, the Kentucky Derby. It directs everything around us!
Kids will be out of school on Friday, people will wear the craziest outfits & this sort of marks that spring is officially here.
I can’t help but think that this is a small example of what the resurrection did for Christians. This event set in motion a new calendar, a new set of priorities & a new purpose in life.
This last weekend we kicked off our series, “Say What?!” as we’re looking at tough quotes & commands from Jesus.
We started in Matthew 25:31-46 as Jesus let his disciples & crowd know, “whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
This isn’t works based salvation but the fruit of salvation in our lives. I mentioned the story below in my sermon & turns out CBS did an expanded report on it. It’s uncanny & yet not surprising the wording this lady uses to describe what happened. Check it out HERE.
Let our ordinary be extraordinary
We don’t have manufacture things to do for Jesus. We simply just need to become more aware of Him in our daily lives. He wants us to speak, share & love others in His name & share what He’s done for us.
The “Big Race” is coming up, but are we more aware of the victory that has already been won for us?
May we find Jesus surprising us in the small ways of life this week, because He’s showing up all around us.
May we be “ordinary,”
