This week’s readings are based on the “See The Good” sermon from the RelationSHIFT series. This season, we want to focus on the changes or shifts that God wants to make in us in order to improve our relationships. Slow down, read the text, and then let it read you…
This week we are talking about forgiveness and conflict management. In Colossians 3:13, Paul writes, “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” It is clear that God calls us to forgive others no matter the circumstances. This verse does NOT say forgive as the Lord forgave you except for _____. God calls us to forgive EVERYONE. No matter what. That doesn’t mean we have to forget. It also does NOT mean to stay in an abusive relationship. It means God asks us to forgive because it frees us and because God has forgiven us!
Are you someone who is quick to forgive? Or do you hold on to stuff? After reading Colossians 3:13, how do you feel about forgiveness?
Help us to forgive others quickly. Whenever a conflict arises help us to be braving in choosing to confront and forgive quickly. Help us to remember how much you have forgiven us and therefore we need to forgive others in that same way.
Thank you for Jesus
