This week’s readings are based on the Unsung Heroes sermon series. This season, we are looking at some of the lesser known-heroes of the faith, seeing the big impact they had, and understanding how we can learn from their example. Slow down, read the text, and then let it read you.
“By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there [beaten and left for dead], he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by.”
Luke 10:31 (NLT)
Life has many unexpected twists and turns. Some things that happen to us can seem very random, but might very well be by divine appointment. Scripture tells us in this verse that “by chance” the priest was passing on the same road of the injured man. Yet God still gives us the free will to choose to do the right thing or not. In your prayers, ask God to open your eyes to those in need on the road you are traveling today and for the strength and wisdom to do the right thing.
