This week’s readings are based on the Unsung Heroes sermon series. This season, we are looking at some of the lesser-known heroes of the faith, seeing the big impact they had, and understanding how we can learn from their example. Slow down, read the text, and then let it read you.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
We often use this verse to show that we are to forgive others almost an unlimited amount of times, just as God has forgiven us. But we fail to see that we should also do the same in forgiving ourselves for our mistakes.
Is there anything you need to forgive yourself? Are you really hard on yourself? Is it time to forgive yourself and let something go? Pray and ask God to help you forgive yourself!
